What is a Sponsor?
A sponsor is a person or organization that has an interest in a migrant coming to live and/or work in the Netherlands. A natural person can be a sponsor for a family member and an organization for a foreign employee. Recognition as a sponsor takes place via the IND (Immigration and Naturalisation Service).

Why is Recognized Sponsorship important?
If an organization wants to hire a highly skilled migrant from outside the EU, EEA or Switzerland, this person must be recognized by a sponsor by the IND.
